Learn to quilt with Ruby Hoppen
Class one: Improvised Patchwork
Date: Friday 20th April 5:30-7:30pm
Location: 27-29 Johnston St, Collingwood VIC 3066
I will teach you how to create your own unique composition out of your choice of materials- whether it be from scraps, sentimental worn out clothing or new materials and then stitch it together to create a stunning quilt top! This class is for people who have used a sewing machine or have done some simple hand sewing before.
What we will cover-
This 2 hour class is an introduction to patchwork, use of scraps and piecing. Learn about traditional quilt blocks and what they teach us about the people who used them. I will show you time-saving sewing techniques and we will talk about how to use scraps in a meaningful way and how to be inventive with humble materials.
What you will come away with-
The beginnings of your very own quilt top and an illustrated instructional booklet on everything I teach in the class (including some of my patchworking secrets)
There will be wine, tea and snacks provided.
If a refund is required, please let me know 1 week prior to the workshop. I reserve the rights to refuse last minute changes and refunds.
